Beautiful. When they built this house in the 1970's, they planted two trees in the back yard which are nice and big, but they were apparently very quick growing. One is now totally dead, the other hasn't much time left. I keep hoping to find something beautiful to put back there, but can't make up my mind what would be better. There are some beautiful crab apple trees around the neighborhood, thinking about putting those in, but I sure would love to have some fruit trees! Just not sure what would actually do well here on this totally sandy soil....

Leiah, thanks for your comment. I have fairly sandy soil and have had success with my and serviceberry tree, too. Neighbors have plums, cherries and peach trees. The key is plenty of water until the root system is well established.
