Prunus armeniaca, apricot |
I'm thrilled to finally, finally have some flowers blooming in my garden. The weather has been more like May than March but, luckily, plants are blooming at their "normal" pace. The little minor bulbs (below) are under the apricot tree and blooming fast on the heels of the snowdrops, crocus, and dwarf iris. I hope that over the next few years they'll colonize and create a bigger impact. The sweet woodruff (
Gallium odoratum) is also coming to life and will cover the area with white flowers very soon.

Scillia or Puschkinia? |

Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica (I think!) |

Plus the first tulips of the season...
I hope your world is getting more colorful these days, too!

Looks like a bumper crop of apricots this year. Thanks for sharing the pictures- I have very little color in my yard right now so I enjoyed seeing the color in yours.
Ha - I'm not sure about those apricots - I suspect we will have at least one more hard freeze here. Thanks for commenting, Deb.
I used to predict the doozy of a snow and then freeze by how well our Saucer Magnolia bloomed in Aurora. I was wrong...once!
That is a pretty apricot tree...my part of town often has loads of apricots. Your other blooms are quite nice, to say the least. Seems your area and mine excel in bulbs!
David, I always associate apricot trees with New Mexico. This particular tree is from a seedling I dug up in my grandmother's garden near Durango, Colorado, about 24 years ago!
So glad that the apricot tree is blooming again!
