Just one More...

Your perfect lawn alternative may simply be an alternative grass selection.
I stopped and snapped this photo with my phone-camera when I was out on my bike yesterday. What fantastic texture! And this fine fescue grass will take less water than a traditional bluegrass lawn and no mowing.

Thank you for the excellent lawnless landscape! I wonder which fescue that is? People used to plant creeping red fescue in San Diego on slopes, which looked like that...very sculptural and powerful. Nice patterns, including the boulders and taller grasses near the porch. Perfect!

Hopefully, the owners hardly water that...seems one might not have to there, except some in winter and if hot/dry in summer?

Thanks for your comments, David. I agree, with you - a very simple design, but such high impact! Can't ID the fescue variety, but I suspect that it would need regular (every 7-10 days?) watering throughout the growing season.
