Matt, thanks for taking a stab at the ID of this yucca. On further investigation (I bought it unlabeled from a tiny neighborhood greenhouse), I think this is probably 'Color Guard', as the yellow color is in the center of the leaf blade, and the edge is green.
Glad you've been inspired to take a closer look when you're out on a photo shoot!

I tend to always try to photograph plants from a distance so I can see how they are used context - but you are inspiring me to "zoom in"!

Thanks for the link, Mark! This seed photo is wonderful -- the faceted jam jar really makes it, I think. I may just have give it a try myself!
