On the Street...Teller Street, Wheat Ridge


A gentleman in my neighborhood worked for years as a plant propagator at a local greenhouse. Although retired now, he still can't resist spring's call to prepare plants (especially Pelargoniums) for the summer season! He wheels these carts out for a few hours each day to get the plants hardened off and ready to sell.

Yes, that is a nice sign of things to come, and those nice smells - it especially was back in my days in Z 5 Aurora!

Hopefully more such people will do this in larger scales, so customers will not have to buy non-acclimated plants from the coasts!

There are a number of large plant propagators locally, but often times the plants just go from one greenhouse to another. If you buy plants that are stocked in an indoor display they must be hardened off before planting. Thanks for your comment, David!
