Down, but not out! Yes, it's mid-November, but I still have a few pansys blooming away. These cheery guys are planted in pots on my south facing patio, and may continue to flower through Thanksgiving.

These annuals are the primary source of flower color in our winter garden here. Despite their name they are tough and will bloom until late May when the heat will finally take them out.
These are reliable bloomers here through late fall, then pop out when it gets really cold. However, if well mulched, they will bloom again in the spring. They are often planted in early spring as companions to flowering bulbs, then replaced with more heat tolerant annuals in late May or early June.
