Instead of plant portraits this month, I'd like to show you the bigger picture: my September garden is lush and full of color!

Wow!--What a beautiful September garden! I wouldn't dare show photos of the big picture now--mine is dry, brown and a little stressed looking!

Thank you Rebecca and CW! We were lucky to get lots of rain this summer that helped mitigate unusually high temps. The pond is a delight year-round!

Yowza! I wish my own property was 1/10 as nicely maintained as your's...never mind that it is a different place lacking that pesky water stuff. The pond is cool in and of itself! But that blue plumbago...mmmm.

I always appreciate the bigger picture. Macros alone give you no sense of the garden, and yours is lush and lovely. That said, I am somewhat stingy with the big pictures in my garden.
Robert, the "big Sweep" is my favorite for big impact in an informal setting!
Thanks, Larry - the orb you speak of is actually a terracotta pot that has a conical, rather than flat, bottom. It's a great focal point even (or better!) without plants.
Les, I so often feature the macro view on Wordless Wednesday that I wanted to change things up a bit. The lush look is created by 1. deep beds, 2. big plants and 3. lots of summer rain this year! Thanks for you comments!
